Can you unengrave metal?


I’m trying to find a padlock charm to use for a wedding detail, and I found this online, but I’m wondering if I can take it to a jeweler or metalsmith and get it un-engraved or have the inscription filled in.

You should be able to have it sanded and filed down and polished to a nice even finish, just remember to try and check the person doing the work and make sure he will gurantee the work.
