What’s that one cartoon where…?

There’s this one episode where the main character (A blonde girl I think) wears her mom’s diamond earrings without asking and one of them drops into the sewage. Then, she finds the same ones in this jewelry shop and tries to steal them because her friend told her about “five finger discounts”.She ends up getting in trouble and her mom gives her “the silent treatment” and that’s all I can remember. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? It was a cartoon a long while ago. And that’s all I can remember from it.

Your talking about Braceface. The episode is #14 “Take That”. Sharon and Maria both resort to stealing items while auditioning for a local TV station’s talent search — Maria steals a CD to impress a hip-hop crew, and Sharon steals her mother’s favorite earrings, but loses one in a gutter and attempts to shoplift an exact copy to cover her tracks.
