Black diamond solitaire engagement ring? Thoughts/Opinions/Personal experiences needed?

Hello everybody! I plan on proposing to my girlfriend this summer. We’ve been talking about getting engaged and eventually married for awhile and it’s time to make that next step. So we’ve looked at rings a little bit and this one ring really caught her eye. Only thing is that it’s a black diamond! I’m clueless when it comes to jewelry so can anyone help me out and tell me if these diamonds are suitable for engagement rings? A 1 ct. black diamond was of equal value to diamonds around .25 ct. Are they inferior in quality or something? Anyways, thanks to anyone who can help me out in understanding all of this better.

Obviously if this is the one she really likes, this is the one I should probably get! I just want to make sure I’m getting her a quality ring

If she loves the ring, then get it!
Black diamonds are a good quality, but obviously not as good as your clear diamonds. Black diamonds are made black with heat. So obviously the clarity and colour are kind of shot. The quality of a black diamond is not going to be extremely high. If it were flawless or close to, they wouldn’t treat it with heat and make it black, it would be sold at its full value. It is still a diamond, and has the hardness of a diamond. There is nothing wrong with buying a black diamond as an engagement ring. I’ve seen all sorts of stones used as engagement rings.
The important part, is that she loves it and you love it. If she isn’t worried about it, then you shouldn’t be either.
I think its original, and personally, I have a soft spot for black diamonds, I think they are gorgeous.
